Nylon filament, also referred to sometimes as polyamide, is a very flexible 3D filament material. It is stronger and more durable than ABS and PLA. This material does print at a high temperature and requires a heated bed. Nylon can handle friction and abrasion very well and can be repeatedly bent without breaking.
PCL filament is a low-temperature material that is not used as often as the materials mentioned above. The melt temperature for PCL filament material is 60 degrees celcius, making it easy to remodel. After PCL filament has cooled down, the material becomes impact-resistant and rigid.
Pick a filament material that best supports your 3D printing goals. The type of material that you buy should be compatible with your 3D printer. This will depend on the maximum temperature levels of the 3D printer and whether a heated bed is required for the 3D material type. The filament material that you choose will also influence the overall function, look and feel of the 3D printed design. Once you have chosen the filament material type that you would like to 3D print with, there are a few more aspects to consider. First and foremost pick a filament diameter size that fits your printer’s nozzle. Be sure to also buy a filament material with the weight listed that you prefer, and of course select any color you would like.
